The Future Body

In collaboration with Fit For Free and the KABK, Nest has developed the elective course ‘The Future Body’ for Fine Arts students at the KABK. What demands are placed on the future body? How are these determined in physical, social and virtual contexts? What determines a body in the future? Together with MYBODY. COM artist Tereza Ruller (The Rodina) we guided the students in the development of new site-specific video works that question and deconstruct the ‘ideal’ body.

Three video works have been selected by a selection committee and have been exhibited for a month on the Fit For Free workout equipment. The jury consisted of: Wilma Dumay, manager Fit For Free; Suzie van Staaveren, participating artist MYBODY .COM; Cecilia Bengtsson, Fine Arts KABK; Heske ten Cate, artistic director of Nest.

The works of Ryan Lim, Christian Roncea and Lui Wolstencroft were presented from November 1st until December 1st 2019 at the Fit For Free on Loosduinseweg 627 in The Hague.
