Scherven brengen geluk
1 May – 20 Jun 2010 / Workshop@NestAt the exhibition Appetite for Destruction Nest organizes a number of workshops, especially for children.
The workshops are developed by visual designer Angelique Josten, intended for children between 5 and 12 years and are guided by artists with extensive experience in the field of art education. If you are interested or would like more information please contact us.
Last summer Nest organized the Garden of Lusten, a project of Rene Jansen with an indoor vegetable garden and city park. The experiences with the children’s workshops that were organized in that project were very positive and therefore we also offer an educational program for the upcoming exhibition Appetite for Destruction.
During the workshop the children first look at the exhibition and then get to work themselves. When viewing the exhibition, a number of questions will be central, such as: “What is the exhibition really about?”, “What is the art made of?” and “What happened to the materials used? Then the children first break things down and then use them to create their own work of art.
Do shards bring happiness? The workshop is inspired by the work of artist Keiko Sato who uses shards to create a new image. In the workshop a work of art will be built with broken pottery. In this way, shards change from useless waste into something useful and beautiful.
