Call for Graduates

– ongoing

Due to the closure of the art academies during the Corona pandemic, the national graduation of 2020 happened very differently: the graduation exhibitions were moved to the fall, or presented more intimately. Nest and Melkweg Expo decided to invited the students of 2020 (BA/MA fine art) of all art academies in the Netherlands to send in a photo of their graduation work for an exhibition in the public space of The Hague and Amsterdam.

Call for Graduates 2021

In 2021, the visibility of graduating artists was also limited due to travel restrictions. Nest and 1646 set up an open call for BA/MA students from the 2021 class, who create autonomous work, from all art academies in the Netherlands. A selection of the works was shown in public spaces on billboards throughout The Hague. All entries were also exhibited online.

During The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend from July 8 to 11, 2021 in The Hague, posters with the graduation work were spread throughout the city.

Nest enjoyes to open up the door and explore places outside the walls of the exhibition space together with artists.

In addition to the exhibitions and programmes in the space at the De Constant Rebecqueplein, Nest can also be found at other locations. Like on the grass of festival grounds, in local newspapers or on art fairs. Some of these projects are one-off, others are recurring. You can find these projects here.
