An educational experiment where photography students of The American School of The Hague were guided within their artistic process by artist Thomas Nondh Jansen.

Within the context of the current exhibition ‘Fluid Desires’, Nest has developed an educational program in collaboration with the American School of The Hague (ASH). The photography students are guided by a professional photographer in their artistic process to create new work responding to the theme of the exhibition. The international group exhibition ‘Fluid Desires’ explores how in today’s world everything can be experienced as very fluid. Nothing is fixed, everything is in motion. Notions like time, space, reality, nature, the object, human and the object-man relation.

The students of ASH are invited by Nest to further develop their own visual work and to take a first step towards professionalization. Inspired by the themes and the questions brought up by this exhibition, the students reflect on their own notion of what fluidity could mean. Under the guidance of Thomas Nondh Jansen, they examined the underlying relationships in meaning and context within a group exhibition by means of activating working methods. Nest aims to introduce and cultivate contemporary art thinking that is more accessible to a younger audience: namely secondary school students through reason, articulation and action.

Over a period of two months, Thomas Nondh Jansen in his role as mentor has guided the students in giving constructive feedback. This has led to the presentation of their works on Friday the 21^st of March.
