Queendom (film + Q&A)

In samenwerking met Grauzone Festival

  •

Together with Grauzone, Nest presents the film Queendom, followed by a Q&A with Jordi Ariza Gallego.

Queendom follows Gena, a queer artist from a small town in Russia. She dresses in otherworldly costumes made from junk and tape, and protests in the government in the streets of Moscou. Born and raised in the harsh town of Magadan, Gena is only 21. She creates radical performances in public space that become a new form of art and activism. By doing so, she wants to change people’s perception of beauty and queerness and bring attention to the harassment of the LGBTQ+ community.

The screening is followed by a Q&A with artist and organiser Jordi Ariza College, moderated by Samira Ben Messaoud, business manager of Nest.

This night is organised in collaboration with Grauzone festival. Grauzone presents music, film and art and has a programme focussing on both upcoming and established names within the new wave, psychedelic and experimental scene.

The event can be visited for free for Grauzone ticket holders. If you’re not attending the festival, tickets are €5 and can be reserved through email.
