On Friday March 8th, during International Women's Day, ReteDonna Paesi Bassi and Nest present a screening of the film Stitching Palestine, an independent documentary by Carol Monsour. The film depicts twelve Palestinian women discussing their lives in Palestina end the diaspora, and how they remain connected to their culture through embroidery.

Their narratives are connected by the enduring thread of the ancient art of embroidery. These are twelve resilient, determined and articulate women from disparate walks of life: lawyers, artists, housewives, activists, architects, and politicians stitch together the story of their homeland, of their dispossession, and of their unwavering determination that justice will prevail.

The screening is organised by ReteDonne Paesi Bassi, a European platform dedicated to facilitating meetings, discussions, initiatives, and the exchange of information to empower women. Their goal is to increase the visibility and influence of individual women and women's associations in Italy, Germany, and across Europe, within various institutions.

The film screening will be followed with a panel discusison lead by Stefanie Farina (founding member of ReteDonne Paesi Bassi) with Yara Chalaan (artist and embroiderer), Alessia Talò (artist and embroiderer) en Fatima Abbadi (photographer and embroiderer.

De screening is gratis te bezoeken.
