Nina666 & Martine Derks & Marijn Abel

Ever since she was young, Nina666 has dreamt of getting married. Not because of the wedding itself, but because of the dress she would be wearing. Wedding dresses have become a symbol of femininity in its ultimate form for her. A form of femininity that has not always been a given for her as a trans woman. From an early age she has been dreaming about it – not the wedding itself, but the dress she would be wearing. Together with artist, photographer and spiritual caregiver Martine Derks and fashion designer Marijn Abel she realises this dream in Say Yes to the Dress.

One of Marijns goals as a designer is to let people experience gender euphoria, the feeling of comfort, confidence, and joy that one can feel about their body and/or identity. This feeling of euphoria is contagious and almost physically palpable in the photographs that Martine made of Nina666 over the years. In Say Yes to the Dress the most important marital bond might be that with the self.

The Grand Palace of Everyone

In collaboration with No Limits! Art Castle

Welcome to ‘The Grand Palace of Everyone’, a land without borders where collaboration reigns.

Together with No Limits! Art Castle (formerly known as Outsiderland) we tear down the walls between fantasy and reality, art and design, and ‘insider’ and ‘outsider’ artists. Why would anyone decide who is ‘professional enough’ to enter the gates?

The Grand Palace of Everyonerolls out a black and white carpet for the work of over sixty artists in 26 unique collaborations between talented and dedicated artists. Side by side they find their way in the art world and present a broad scope of collaborations in every nook and cranny of Nest. Never before have so many artists shared the space in one exhibition.
