Museum Night The Hague – studio visit by painter Philip Akkerman & musician Jameszoo

Specially for Museumnacht Den Haag, Nest welcomes you to have a look behind the scenes in the studio of Hague painter Philip Akkerman on Saturday 7 October. This is where he has spent countless hours and painted thousands of self-portraits. Experimental jazz musician and producer Jameszoo has also been invited to host the evening’s music. It will be an intimate evening of art and music, with only ten participants per round. Be sure to be there early!

Philip Akkerman and Jameszoo are no strangers to Nest. Indeed, the two artists’ work was featured in the exhibition Telephone, in which visitors could immerse themselves in a surrealistic choreography in which more than 350 self-portraits by Akkerman connected with Jameszoo’s self-playing pianos, synthesisers and musical compositions.

On Saturday 7 October, you can visit Philip Akkerman’s studio in small groups, where the artists will talk more about their work, special collaborations and friendship. Want to read more about these artists in advance? Then click here.
