Artist
  • Ingmar Köning

Together with our young associated artist Ingmar König, Nest was invited to create a special presentation for the non-profit section at Art Brussels 2016. König identifies his work as a representation of mankind’s shortcomings and weaknesses. In the new installation that is developed for the fair, König focuses on the arena of fear that is often connected to the unknown and the worry about the dangers that lay ahead. Some of the defining strands of fear that König explored connect to the disquiet and unidentified danger of radiation and virus infections. While our sensory receptors are unable to help us establish its extensiveharm, it is often long term or life threatening. A specific side effect is its effects on social structures or its pressure on interpersonal relations.

Nest and König will work together for a year. The Mondrian Fund stimulates this period and therefore supports the project with the ‘Werkbijdrage Jong Talent plus Opdrachtgever’.
