Drafting the constitution; ecology; the periodic table; and the theory of evolution are all examples of systems developed in the 19th century that still resonate today in how the world is perceived. The decline of humanity’s faith in God coupled with the advance of science drove an impulse to divide, split and methodically characterise the world. Systems largely dictate the manner in which the world is observed, understood and designed.
